Dinner @ Macosa & [title of show] make for a fine night for our CEO

CEO Amy Gelles made a night of it in Brooklyn

CEO Amy Gelles made a night of it in Brooklyn

Our volunteers and supporters are there when TGCW needs them, and our TGCW family is happy to reciprocate. After all, together we thrive.

When Amy Gelles, CEO, learned that grown children of some of our most devoted supporters were launching new and exciting ventures, she was more than eager to get behind their efforts.

Amy and her crew started at Macosa, a new trattoria in Brooklyn. Colin Hagendorf, daughter of our long-time supporters Kathy and Sonny Hagendorf, is one of the working partners at the restaurant.

Amy and friends enjoyed a delicious meal, including pasta and gnocchi, while sitting in Macosa’s rustic backyard garden. "We ate every appetizer on the menu, raving about each one. It was a great place to sit and talk and drink special beers and great wines," she said.

While you may think that Amy's review could be biased, it's not! Check out what NY Eater had to say about Macosa. Cheers to Colin - wishing you much success.

After the dinner, the group headed to the Brooklyn Navy Yard to see [title of show], the latest show by Bridge Productions. The production is directed by Max Hunter, who also has a starring role. Max is the son of Kelly and André Hunter, long-time supporters. Kelly is also the former board chair of TGCW.

Keri René Fuller, who delivered breathtaking performances during our 2021 Virtual Gala, performs alongside Max. The show is a big hit at Building 92 Courtyard's outdoor theatre and is getting rave reviews. Break a leg, Max!

[title of show] runs Friday-Monday, August 13-16; and Thursday-Saturday, August 19-21; all at 8:00 PM.

We are so happy to share in the success of our friends. We hope you can visit the restaurant and catch the show.
