This privacy notice discloses the privacy practices for TheGuidanceCenter.org. This privacy notice applies solely to information collected by this website.

Information collection, use, and sharing

We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information.

We will use your information to respond to you regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside our organization, other than as may be necessary to fulfill your request. 

Please note that information sent via email may not be secure. Refrain from sending any personal information regarding medical conditions, including specifics about mental health or substance use issues, or other identifying information.

You can voluntarily enroll to receive other information, such as electronic newsletters, email updates, and event information by contacting us

We take precautions to protect your information.

PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS

Program participants and those inquiring about our programs and services should not disclose sensitive treatment or health information, including specifics about mental health or substance use issues, via email. Those enrolled in our programs or services can learn more about their privacy rights here.

DONATIONS 

Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for "https" at the beginning of the address of the web page.

We also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, development and events) are granted access to personally identifiable information. 

We reserve the right to list donors and supporters as part of an event or an annual report. Those donors and supporters who do not want to be listed should email us. 

The computers/servers on which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

MEDICAID COMPLIANCE

The Guidance Center of Westchester (TGCW) is committed to support the integrity of the New York State Medicaid program by preventing and detecting the possibility of fraudulent, abusive and wasteful billing practices.

To further our goal of eliminating these practices, TGCW has a Compliance Program that follows the standards set by the New York State Office of the Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG).  The compliance program provides a code of conduct and code of ethics, establishes an individual who serves as the facility’s Compliance Officer, is responsible for training all employees and relevant individuals in Compliance basics, establishes disciplinary and non-retaliation policies and is tasked to respond to any compliance issues that are raised among its responsibilities.
