TAP into community

Alan Mack & Chris Masters at the TAP into Access event.

We decked the halls with caring and community at our most recent TAP into ACCESS event. These gatherings bring together friends, supporters, and staff in an informal setting where they discuss the impact that our programs and services are having in the community. It is also an opportunity for people who share a passion for our work to get to know one another better.

At the December gathering, the group participated in a Q&A with Alan Mack, a 35-year veteran of the US Army who retired as a master aviator. Alan, who continues to protect as the deputy director of Emergency Services for Orange County, authored “Razor 03 – A Night Stalker’s Wars” which chronicles his special operations missions after the attacks of September 11. Alan also shared his personal, painful connection to our work in substance use recovery: the loss of his wife to opioid use.

“We were excited to have Chief Warrant Officer 5, Alan Mack, share his experiences with a collection of business and community leaders that support The Guidance Center and Access. Our network continues to deepen the work we do with veterans and connecting with those most deeply rooted in that community is crucial to getting supports to those who need them most,” says Executive Director of the Access: Supports for Living Foundation Chris Masters.

We thank everyone who joined us that night. If you’d like to learn more or become more involved with the Access Foundation, which supports the work of The Guidance Center of Westchester, reach out to Chris here.

The Access: Supports for Living Foundation, Inc. is the fundraising organization that supports Access: Supports for Living and its affiliates, which includes The Guidance Center of Westchester. It is a separate charitable 501(c)(3) organization that is led by a volunteer Board of Directors.
